R-ESTART

THE RESPONSIBLE

SOCIAL NETWORK

No tracking. No data harvesting.

No algorithms. No adverts.

No over-18s. No likes. No comments.

No toxic feed. No infinite scrolling.

Less manipulation. Less harmful influence.

Less misinformation. Less fake accounts.

THE SEPARATED

SOCIAL NETWORK

R-ESTART gives under-18s their own dedicated social network, designed specifically around the unique needs of young people, with their own systems, standards, moderation framework, and priorities.

The current social media model places young people and adults inside the same commercially-driven environment, then relies on adding filters, parental controls, or modified account types in an attempt to make that shared space “safe enough”.

R-ESTART takes a different approach: instead of deliberately choosing a single platform for everyone, we built a completely separate environment for under-18s. R-ESTART creates clear boundaries, reducing unnecessary exposure and interaction.

The safest interaction is no interaction.

THE SAFE

SOCIAL NETWORK

R-ESTART is designed with ongoing adult support, involvement, and accountability built directly into the platform. Every account must be created and actively overseen by a responsible adult to provide a safer, healthier, and more guided start for young people.

Age-appropriate content and influence are critical for a younger audience, so commercial use is heavily restricted. To reduce exposure to content that often promotes idealised lifestyles, unrealistic self-image standards, harmful behaviour, or intentionally provocative messaging, influencers and content creators are not permitted on R-ESTART.

R‑ESTART is the safe alternative. A completely separate social network for under-18s only, created for the protection and well-being of a younger audience. A place for real connections, creativity, and community, not a shared environment built around advertising, engagement-driven incentives, or maximising profits.

R‑ESTART is made specifically for young people and developed without the features designed to be addictive, drive excessive use, and encourage toxic engagement. We aim to reduce many of the risks associated with social media: manipulation, misinformation, and unhealthy social comparison, including those especially harmful to a younger audience: cyberbullying, intentionally provocative content, dangerous viral trends, unrealistic beauty and lifestyle standards, and the growing dependence on external validation.

Built on the core principles of R‑ESET, it prioritises privacy, protection, and participation for young people within a dedicated, age-appropriate environment.

The responsible and safer model for young people on social media.

R‑ESTART takes a fundamentally different approach to social media for under-18s. Instead of leaving them inside the same commercially-driven environment as adults and attempting to make that shared space “safe enough”, R‑ESTART is a completely separate social network designed around the current realities and responsibilities of social media for young people.

R‑ESTART puts the responsible adult in control. To provide ongoing guidance, support, and accountability, adult participation is required. All accounts must be opened and actively overseen by a responsible adult.

R‑ESTART puts the younger user back in control. What they see is shaped by who they choose to connect with and the content they actively discover, not by platform interference.

R‑ESTART follows the same approach as R‑ESET by reversing the roles in social media and not treating the user as the product. That means no reliance on algorithms, advertising, or engagement-driven business models, and no tracking or use of personal data to target or manipulate content.

Business accounts are available, but participation is heavily restricted, with strict limits on permitted industries and content. Influencers and content creators are not permitted on R‑ESTART. This helps reduce excessive and unregulated influence, including intentionally provocative messaging or dangerous behaviour driven by commercial incentives. It also reduces hidden commercial priorities within seemingly everyday content.

Our pay-to-join model helps create a community of real, accountable users. Payment at sign-up helps deter misuse, including adults posing as younger users.

The rebalancing of power from the platform back to young people and the adults responsible for them.

All young people require a responsible adult, such as a parent, guardian, or other trusted person, to create an account on their behalf. They retain ongoing oversight of and accountability for the young person’s account, including the ability to suspend or delete it at any time.

On R‑ESTART, adult involvement was intentionally designed from the beginning to create a more open, guided, and collaborative environment. It provides a safer space with clearer expectations, active participation, and greater peace of mind for those responsible for younger users.

R‑ESTART is created for the safety and well-being needs of a younger audience from the outset. Starting with the same core protections as used on R‑ESET, it introduces additional safeguards specifically designed to provide greater support and guidance, while intentionally reducing unnecessary exposure, interaction, and engagement-driven pressures.

Pay-to-join model, reducing bots, fake accounts, and adults posing as young people.

R‑ESTART requires only the minimum information needed from the responsible adult to create and operate an account.

We do not build profiles of any user based on data, metadata, or activity, and we do not monitor or influence what they see. We do not access contacts, calendar, location, or microphone, and we do not track activity across other apps or the internet.

Only private accounts are available, and interaction is intentionally limited to reduce exposure to risk, pressure, unwanted contact, and the long-term risks associated with over-sharing personal content online.

R‑ESTART does not allow any user information or content to be used for data harvesting or AI training.

Joining fee payments are processed by a reputable, independent third party. Any personal information they require is used solely to complete the transaction and is handled within their secure infrastructure.

To support the guidance and accountability of every young user, R‑ESTART consists of two account types: ‘Support’ accounts for responsible adults, and ‘User’ accounts for young people using the social network.

An adult is initially required to create a Support account and pay the joining fee. A Support account provides full access to the R‑ESTART web portal for account management and very restricted access to the R‑ESTART app. Support accounts are clearly identified as such within the app to provide greater transparency and accountability for all users.

User accounts are then created directly by the adult through their Support account on the R‑ESTART web portal. The web portal allows them to retain oversight and accountability for the User account, including the ability to suspend or delete it at any time.

Support accounts do not automatically have access to a User account’s content or activity, but they can request to follow User accounts through the app, and it is the User’s decision whether to accept or reject the request.

R‑ESTART includes Business accounts, separate from those on R‑ESET, with strict limits on permitted industries and content, ensuring commercial participation remains appropriate for a younger audience.

R‑ESTART Business follows the same subscription model as R‑ESET and the same approach of reversing the roles in social media and not treating the younger user as the product.

While it follows the same subscription model, R‑ESTART is built on a completely separate platform with different rules, requirements, and priorities focused solely on privacy, protection, and participation for young people.

Influencers and content creators are not permitted on R‑ESTART. This is an intentional decision to help maintain a safer, healthier, and more age-appropriate environment.

R‑ESTART uses a pay-to-join model to support a safer and more responsible environment for young people. It helps encourage a community of real users while reducing bots and fake accounts.

Payment at sign-up, while remaining private and securely processed, introduces an additional layer of accountability, helping deter adults from posing as young people.

Your joining fee supports the daily operation of R‑ESTART and allows us to remain truly independent and prioritise the long-term safety and well-being of a younger audience over external commercial pressures and short-term profits.

R‑ESTART does not include the ambition to share profits. This is a conscious decision to remove financial incentives from a platform designed for the specific needs of young people.

It allows us to prioritise reinvestment into protection, moderation, and support, including our ambition to create additional resources and services designed to better assist younger users and the adults responsible for them.
